Product Overview

Vertical mill parts are machined on vertical machining centres, where the spindle is oriented vertically and the tool works down into the part. This configuration gives excellent visibility and access for detailed operations, which suits smaller batches, complex top face features and parts that need frequent setup changes.

Our vertical capacity comprises four Fadal 4020 vertical machining centres and one Okuma Genos M460-VE with chip removal systems and automatic tool changers, the latter allowing longer unattended cycles on repeat work.

Our engineers review manufacturability, confirm tolerances and raise anything in the drawing that would cause a problem before production starts.

In-process inspection at a set frequency during the run, using the coordinate measuring machine and gauges in our inspection room.

Surface Treatment

Anodizing, sand blasting, polishing, electroplating and powder coating applied in house after deburring and cleaning.

Final Inspection

The finished lot is checked against the drawing before packing, with certification issued for the stages you require.

Packing and Delivery

Protective packing appropriate to the part, dispatched within the agreed delivery date.

Vertical suits parts with most features on one face and jobs that change often. Horizontal suits higher volume and parts needing several faces machined in one setup.

Can you hold tight flatness on a machined plate?

Tell us the flatness callout at quotation. Thin plates may need stress relieving between roughing and finishing, which affects both price and lead time.

What is the minimum quantity?

One. Prototype and single piece work is normal here.
