Product Overview
CNC turning parts are produced by holding bar or tube in a chuck and rotating it while a cutting tool is fed into the workpiece. The process suits round components, and it combines turning, facing, drilling, boring, threading and tapping into a single cycle.
Our turning department runs Okuma twin spindle lathes for multitasking work, where the part is transferred between spindles so front and back operations complete in one cycle, and a Mazak single spindle quick turn CNC lathe for shorter cycle production.
Key Benefits
True Concentricity
Roundness and concentricity accuracy up to +/-0.005 mm.
Fine Surface Finish
Surface roughness up to Ra 0.4 straight from the lathe.
Complete Parts In One Cycle
Twin spindle transfer means both ends are finished without a second setup.
Efficient Material Use
Bar fed production keeps material handling and cycle time down on volume work.
Application Scenarios and Who It Is For
- Shafts, pins and spindles
- Threaded bodies and adaptors
- Bushes, sleeves and spacers
- Fluid fittings and connectors
- Custom fasteners and studs
- Automotive and machinery turned components
If your application is not listed, send the drawing anyway. Most of our work arrives as a part nobody else wanted to quote.

Manufacturing Process and Quality Control
Drawing Review
Our engineers review manufacturability, confirm tolerances and raise anything in the drawing that would cause a problem before production starts.
Sample Approval
Free samples are offered prior to mass production, with first piece inspection recorded against your drawing.
Production Control
In-process inspection at a set frequency during the run, using the coordinate measuring machine and gauges in our inspection room.
Surface Treatment
Anodizing, sand blasting, polishing, electroplating and powder coating applied in house after deburring and cleaning.
Final Inspection
The finished lot is checked against the drawing before packing, with certification issued for the stages you require.
Packing and Delivery
Protective packing appropriate to the part, dispatched within the agreed delivery date.
Customization Options
- Material — specify a grade from our catalog, or describe the function and our engineers will recommend one.
- Tolerance — standard machining tolerance is 0.005 to 0.01 mm; tighter callouts are discussed at quotation.
- Surface finish — anodized, sand blasted, polished, electroplated, powder coated or as machined.
- Marking — laser engraving and CNC engraving for part numbers and logos.
- Quantity — from a single prototype through to long production contracts.
- Certification — certification provided at each stage on request.

Product FAQ
Can turned parts have flats or cross holes?
Yes. With live tooling those features are machined without moving the workpiece, which preserves concentricity.
What is the maximum bar diameter?
300 mm. Below 1 mm and above 300 mm, turning may not be the right process for the part.
Do you turn from tube?
Yes, turned components can be formed from tubes as well as solid bars.
How do I order this part?
Do you offer free samples?
Yes, free samples are offered prior to mass production so you can confirm the part before committing to a run.
