Lead Machinery offers three sets of custom grinding related services: surface finishing, turning of symmetrical components and milling. Our CNC surface grinder helps you attain intricate 3D and 2D designs.
Three Service Sets
Milling
Tolerances of +/-0.005 mm and diameters between 2 and 1000 mm, with automatic tool changers and chip removal. One high speed VMC, four Fadal VMCs and eight HMCs.
Turning
Cylindrical and symmetrical geometry with a 1 to 300 mm diameter range and a tolerance of +/-0.005 mm, on Mazak single spindle quick turn lathes and twin spindle lathes.
Finishing
Advanced finishing tools turn a ground surface into a finished part, modifying the substrate for wear resistance, appearance and corrosion resistance.
CNC Grinding FAQ
When is grinding needed instead of turning or milling?
When the surface finish or dimensional tolerance is beyond what a cutting tool leaves, or when the material is hardened after machining and must still be brought to size.
Can you grind parts you did not machine?
Yes, though we will inspect the incoming parts first and tell you what stock is available to grind.
Is grinding suitable for prototypes?
Yes. Our grinding services cover prototype production as well as large scale runs.
