This method is adaptable to nearly any 2D or 3D shape, as long as the rotating cutting tools have access to the material to be removed. It is widely used for engine components, mould tooling, complex mechanisms, enclosures and more.

What Milling Solves For Buyers
- Complex geometry in one part. Pockets, bosses, slots and holes on several faces without an assembly of simpler pieces.
- Short run economics. No tooling investment, so a run of fifty parts is viable when casting or moulding would not be.
- Design iteration. A programme change is a file change, so a revised prototype is days rather than a new tool.
- Finish quality. Smooth machined faces that need no secondary work before assembly or plating.
CNC Milling FAQ
What size parts can you mill?
2 mm to 1000 mm diameter, with tolerance held at +/-0.005 mm.
Is milling cost effective for small quantities?
Yes. Milling is particularly cost effective for short runs because there is no tooling to amortise, only programming and setup.
Horizontal or vertical machining, which will my part run on?
That depends on part size, the number of faces to be machined and quantity. Larger scale work generally goes to the Okuma horizontal machining centres and detailed vertical operations go to the vertical machining centres.
Can I get a sample before mass production?
Yes, samples are available for approval before mass production, and OEM and ODM work is welcome.
